  • Jeremy Barker

    Founder owner of CARS UK in 1989 with over 35 years of experience in automotive shipping.

    Having been at the cutting edge of various policy changes with HMRC, particularly over the thorny subject of Historic Interest classification, he has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in the approach HMRC interpret and enact EU guidelines (in relation to motor vehicles), even though the UK is now no longer a member.

  • Emma Crickmay

    Joint Managing Director of Frank Dale & Stepsons Ltd, the oldest independent specialist of Rolls Royce and Bentley worldwide. Together with her brother Giles Crickmay, Emma runs the family business which is now 75 years old.

    Before joining the firm on a permanent basis Emma worked in an advisory role with the Chief Executives, Chairs and Boards of an NGO and later a philanthropic organisation engaging with government departments and private business to affect sustainable change in various areas of society. 

  • James Mitchell

    James was the Business Manager of one of the world’s leading historic car sales businesses for over a decade, before founding Pendine Historic Cars Ltd in 2014, specialising in the sales of important post-war British sports racing cars.

    He founded Speed Age Books in 2015, a small publishing company producing bespoke books on historically significant cars. James also writes features for leading industry publications. With two young children, the future of the historic and classic vehicle industry is of paramount importance to him.

  • Rob Schulp

    Born into a family ensconced in the motor trade, Robs career in advertising began in 1987 at Haymarket Publishing.

    Working on just about all their motoring titles he met future partner Sue Farrow and together they are Flying Space Ltd.

    Launched in 2012 Flying Space have built their reputation for finding  advertising, marketing and sponsorship solutions across a wide range of media including The XK Club, The E-type Club, the multi award winning collectors magazine Magneto, The Concours Yearbook and all things Vintage Sports-Car Club.

  • Tomas de Vargas Machuca

    Tomas de Vargas Machuca is Chairman and Co-Founder of HERO-ERA the UK’s leading classic car events platform. HERO-ERA are industry supporters by way of charitable contributions to the Federation of Skills Academy and have more recently published together with a leading research firm Cebr and economic and environmental impact study to bring awareness to the importance of our sector.

    HERO-ERA have also become the first classic car platform globally to be fully decarbonised and will shortly launching an initiative to allow individual classic and historical vehicles to do the same. Tomas has also served as CEO in publicly listed real estate companies in Germany and the Netherlands.

  • Duncan Wiltshire

    Duncan Wiltshire is Chairman of Motor Racing Legends, one of Europe’s leading organisers of Historic motor sport. Formerly an executive in the Construction Industry, Duncan has led Motor Racing Legends for the past twenty years, establishing a full programme of successful Historic race series.

    Duncan grew up around historic cars, enjoying many family adventures as a youngster and has raced an elderly vintage Bentley for over thirty years. He is currently President of the Bentley Drivers Club and sits on the Motoring Committee of the Royal Automobile Club.

    He has two sons, keen to embark on their own lives in the world of classic cars.

  • Dominic Taylor-Lane

    HCVA Skills Committee / The Association of Heritage Engineers (AoHE)

    AoHE Managing Director Dominic Taylor-Lane founded the association to encourage and facilitate the ‘cascade’ of skills throughout heritage engineering and associated artisan crafts following his youngest son joining the first cohort of the HSA. A lifelong fan of all machinery but especially classic vehicles and aviation , he also has 25 years  experience in the domestic renewable heating sector.

    Latterly the AoHE have established the Sustainable Skills Network which aims to showcase and promote the huge range of skills that will prove invaluable to a genuinely sustainable repair based future economy.

  • John Pitchforth

    HCVA Skills Committee / The Heritage Skills Academy

    John has worked in automotive apprenticeship training since 1986, he has been the CEO of a number of Training Providers and started the ‘Heritage Skills Academy’ in response to a widening skills gap within the restoration sector.

    Working closely with engineering restoration specialists from the vehicle, aviation, marine and steam world, he has helped lead the development of the new ‘Heritage Engineering Apprenticeship Standard’ and to secure the funding to ensure high quality training the team have successfully developed and are delivering a training programme tailored to the requirements of this specialist industry. 

  • Janice Pitchforth

    HCVA Skills Committee / The Heritage Skills Academy

    Janice joined the HSA team in January 2018 and brings 20 years of organisational experience to the company. Operating from their Head Office at Bicester Heritage, her role includes employer engagement, recruitment and administration.

    Acting as the primary contact with employers and apprentices, Janice ensures that all operational aspects of the business are handled quickly and effectively.

    Janice was recently recognised with a Royal Automobile Club Historic Award for being "singularly instrumental in promoting and developing apprenticeships throughout the Heritage industry".

  • Malcolm McKay

    Joining Classic Cars magazine as Clubs Editor in 1989, Malcolm rose to Deputy then Acting Editor before leaving in 1999 to pursue a freelance career – during which he has written for magazines and newspapers worldwide, and taken part in rallies around the globe.

    Malcolm writes for publications from Classic & Sports Car to the Daily Telegraph, maintains an independent classic Price Guide and runs ClassicRallyPress Ltd, organising classic car rallies around Europe.
